Course Description:
Explore Buffalo School Tours take your students on a journey to discover Buffalo’s fascinating architecture, history, and neighborhoods. Our school tours are designed to meet elements of the NYS Social Studies Common Core Framework for all grade levels and offer inquiry-based, interactive learning experiences appropriate for public, private, and homeschooled student groups. Our tours provide students with a deeper understanding of their city’s historical, regional, and global significance and encourage students to develop into responsible citizens through learning about their local community
 
Course Objectives
  • Participants will be able to identify & describe important events in Buffalo’s history
  • Participants will be able to identify & discuss architectural & engineering highlights in the City of Buffalo.
  • Participants will create IDMs for their classrooms, drawing from information & resources gained from the course.
  • Participants will collect information about resources available to them to enhance students’ learning about local, regional, & state history.
